Rachel believes passionately that everyone accused of a crime deserves a forceful and skilled defense. She has spent years successfully defending those accused of serious crimes as a Public Defender in Middlesex and Hudson Counties in NJ, as a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn and more recently in private practice. Her experience numbers in the thousands of cases. Rachel prides herself on being a kind, empathetic advocate and a congenial, yet straightforward and powerful adversary.
Rachel grew up in farm country in Southern California. There she learned Spanish and became aware of the intersection between race, class, and the oppressive power of the State. She attended Barnard College and Columbia Law School. She is a first generation college student.
Rachel lives with her husband in Union County. In her spare time she enjoys (loud) concerts, documentary film, and her cats.
