John Dell’Aquilo earned his undergraduate degree from Stockton College in 1978, and earned his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden in 1990.

Professional Experience

Prior to joining the firm, John Dell'Aquilo was counsel to the New Jersey's Breath Testing program, serving as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice. He was New Jersey's Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor, which is a special position sanctioned by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In this position, he was liaison between the State of New Jersey, NHTSA, and prosecutors from across the country. He was also responsible for training and supporting all New Jersey prosecutors and police regarding traffic safety and DWI issues. He trained New Jersey's prosecutors in the prosecution of DWI matters and the operation of the Alcotest 7110 MKIII-C.

John is considered to be one of the foremost authorities in New Jersey DWI law and the Alcotest breath test instrument. John has lectured numerous times to prosecutors, defense attorneys and judges on these issues.

John is a certified Operator Trainer and Maintenance Technician for the Draeger Alcotest 7110 MKIII-C. He completed the New Jersey State Police Driving While Intoxicated Standardized Field Sobriety Testing course, and is a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Standard Field Sobriety Testing Program Assessor. He is also separately qualified by NHTSA in the administration of the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

Prior to serving as a Deputy Attorney General, John was a police officer in Cherry Hill, New Jersey for 29 years. In the course of that career, he served in numerous capacities including being a certified Breath Test Operator for 26 years. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant and was the Director of the Office of Internal Affairs.

John is also an adjunct professor at Rowan University and Camden County College teaching classes in law and criminal justice.

John has lectured at the Robert F. Borkenstein Course on Alcohol and Highway Safety: Testing, Research and Litigation at Indiana University.

Admitted to Practice

John was admitted to practice law in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania in 1990, and he is also a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
